Behind the Scenes of BONEHEAD - My Directorial Debut!

LET ME BACK UP…
It’s December 2024. I’m about to enter my final semester of college, and I’m putting together my schedule.
I know I want to go out with a bang, and I realize that even though I’m a film major, I haven’t…really…done much film stuff.
So decide to join this group at OU called Greenlight Creative Productions, where students get together and make movies!
I PITCHED TWO SCRIPTS
And they both happen to be slashers:
“In the middle of a kill, a slasher goes on his lunch break with his next victim…”
“A drunkard wakes up to find that his house is rigged as the set of a murderous game show. The next contestant…HIM.”
AND WE DECIDED TO DO BOTH!
Filming Bonehead was a one-weekend sprint to get it all done. I was nervous about fitting a whole short film into just a few days, especially since I had never directed anything before. Luckily, I had an amazing team to help me out, and we CRUSHED IT!

Working with a team of creatives like this has been some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a creative project. When I’m writing, I’m usually alone. And as much as I like my introverty peace-and-quiet time, I’ve discovered that I also reeeally enjoy the thrill of a movie set!
